Let’s Make a Beautiful and Easy Bookmark Gift Set

In this post, you will learn how to make this beautiful Bookmark gift set step by step with a free template!

Rainbow heart bookmark

If you like to read just like me, I am sure that you use bookmarks to spot the page you are reading, right? A cute bookmark is a great gift idea for readers to have something special to use in their books. In fact, you can use it for gift giving on different occasions like Teacher Appreciation Day, Valentine’s Day, party favors, and for your book club friends. Regardless of the occasion, bookmarks are a handy gift.

Let’s Get Started

Furthermore, the best part of this tutorial is that you won’t need too many materials or tools to do it. Following the material list will make the process even easier for you.

Cutting the Pieces

Once you’ve sorted the material list, print the Rainbow Heart Bookmark template and cut it out.

After that, you can cut the pieces on the felt. However, I suggest starting with a bookmark with elastic. Then, take the biggest heart and cut it into the felt. Then cut another piece of felt with a 1cm margin and reserve because it will be for the final finish.

Continue the cuts of the other two smaller hearts in different colors. To finish, you need to separate the clip page template and cut the pieces twice on the felt following the same color pattern used previously. When you’re done, you will have something like showing in the picture below.

Time to sew

Continue to the next step, which is to join the pieces and sew in the center.

As you can see in images 1, 2, and 3 below, it is time to position the elastic and felt for the bottom and pin it. To finish the smaller hearts, you need to place the felt in the bottom and pin it.

Afterward, sew the final seam around the pieces. To continue with, cut the remained felt. You can use wave scissors to give a delicate finish. Finally, glue the paper clip and mini clothespin on the back of the smaller hearts.

You did it!

Now your Bookmark set is complete! You can make the whole set or just 1 of them to give away. I usually make the clip page and clothespin to give as a freebie to my customers that have given me many positive feedbacks.
